In order to make space in our clubroom this layout now needs to be disposed of, either by selling or dismantling.

It was built using Peco code 80 track and is analogue DC. It consists of 7 boards, 5 scenic boards at the front and 2 for storage at the back. The whole layout measures 4m x 2m. It has been tested and most of it works:

The large bridge across the scenic section works but ideally should be rebuilt due to some warping. There has been some warping of the boards but this is not too bad. Ideally the joints on the rear centre yard need to be remade to get a flatter crossing of the board joint. There are a couple of areas of track that need repairs and one group of LED did not light on the control panel. The station buildings are in need of refurbishment or to be more truthful I did not do a good job of building them.

All electrical connections between the boards and control panels are via ribbon cable which works well but you do need to take care when removing cables. The 2 power boxes supply power for LEDs and controllers which are connected vis DIN plugs/sockets. The 2 levels of the layout are operated separately but the intension was to be able to run between the levels and the tracks are in place.

The boards pack as pairs forming blocks 1.0 x 0.8 x 0.6m with the hill board remaining on its own due to it’s height. You would need a van to move it although we could arrange local delivery and setup.

To sum up it is a working layout but needs some TLC.

Chiltern Parkway depicts an intersection between an established mainline and a newly built continental line. As the name suggests it is set in the Chilterns and uses a number of local features to give a realistic setting. The Aylesbury canal runs along the rear of the rail lines. Buildings have been "borrowed" from Bulbourne BWB workshops and relocated to Marsworth. The Chilterns escarpment forms the scenery to the right of the layout with its characteristic woodland hillside. The modern station to the left hand end forms a transport interchange between the trains and the local bus services.
Set in the late 90's there is a variety of passenger and freight stock, both diesel and electric. Both class 66 and 92 are present as well as the older classes of loco. The continental mainline has the Eurostar, TGV, ICE2 and high speed UK trains. EWS livery locos are present but do not dominate as many BR liveries are still to be seen.
Stock is a mixture of Graham Farish, CJM, N-thusiast resprays, N gauge society, Roco, Kato, Minitrix and Fleishmann.
